What is the pay rate? How many collaborations can I do a month?

Flexible hourly pay rate depending on the exam type. We will set your schedule with exams based on the hours/days you are able to provide. There are no limitations on how much you can work.

What types of exams are needed? How long do they take?

VBA Contract
We are contracted by the Department of Veteran Affairs to find qualified providers like your facility to set up an agreement to see Veterans for a one-time disability benefit questionnaire (DBQ). Unfortunately, for many disabled veteran’s, they have dealt with many obstacles finding care thru the VA due to multiple driving miles and long waits for appointments due to the high backlog of disability claims. Our goal is to see if you could help alleviate the backlog of Veterans who are dealing with these hardships so we can help the men and women who fought for our country, get the benefits they deserve.

MEPCOM Contract
We are also contracted by the United States Military Entrance Program Command Offices (USMEPCOM) to find qualified providers like your facility who can see these future members of our military for a one-time assessment for active duty thru our SF-513 form. Due to the referring physician at the MEPS location not being a qualified specialist, they notify Optum Serve that a consultation is needed before they join the military. We then schedule with specialists in our network for the consultations to provide results on a specific concern/condition. We do not ask your physician to clear the applicant for military duty since that is the MEPS job, but to provide a prognosis/diagnosis or list any limitations to make sully sure they are ready to defend our country.

Ancillary Services

With both the VBA and MEPCOM contracts, there is also an option to do ancillary services for us.  These include but not limited to x-rays, labs, ECHO, EKG, ABI, DLCO, PFT, Sleep Studies etc.  These services are ordered from another credentialed physician in our network and referred out.  We send out a Diagnostic Request Form with the request along with the codes needed for the service.  Once the service is completed, you would send us the results thru our portal or thru fax/email and gets sent back to the referring practitioner to update the paperwork needed for the Veteran/Military Applicant.  Rates are usually at the global rate and fully negotiable.

How will I be documenting the exams?

All documentation will be done digitally, no faxing required.

Where are exams conducted?

All exams must be conducted in-person. If you have your own office space that can be utilized, that is the preference.
